By region
Guild is region-scoped. Set a region's guild here (or leave Auto to infer from confirmed stations); it drives envoy predictions for every station in that region.
Envoy loop
The game doesn't sort these — tap a station to tick it off as you visit it. The marks stay when you switch envoy type; Reset clears just the type shown.
Envoy exchange
Pick an item to see which stations' envoys offer it for standing redemption and which accept it as a donation.

Getting started
NMS Logbook is your personal record of the systems and space stations you find in No Man's Sky. Everything is stored on your device — no account, works fully offline. Add it to your home screen (Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen) to run it like an app.
The flow: Log a system while you play → browse it later in the Catalogue → let the app surface trade loops, envoy runs, and crafting sources from your own finds.
The tabs along the bottom:
- ✎ Log — record a new system (or edit one).
- ☰ Catalogue — search and browse everything you've logged.
- ⟳ Routes — trade loops, region guilds, and envoy visit lists.
- ⚗ Craft — recipes and where to source their ingredients.
- ◎ Goals — a to-do list for in-game objectives.
- ⬢ Corvette — turn a build's parts list into a gathering checklist.
- ⚙ Settings — sync, backup, envoy rules, and this guide.
Logging a system
On the Log tab, fill in what you see on the galaxy map and in-system. Only the name is required, and it must be unique — if you re-use a name (or something very close) the app warns you before saving.
Pick economy, strength, and conflict from the flavour words the game shows you (e.g. "Research", "Wealthy", "Pirate Controlled"); the app normalises each to its real type, star-tier, and trade loop and shows the prediction inline. Choosing a Black Market economy automatically marks the system Pirate Controlled.
- Region — envoys cluster by region, so this drives station predictions.
- Race — picking an inhabited race (Gek/Korvax/Vy'keen) auto-adds a space station for you.
- Star — its stellar metal is added to Resources automatically (marked ★, can't be removed).
- Resources / Tags — type and press Enter to add chips; ✕ to remove. Suggestions come from known items and things you've used before.
- Portal address — opens a glyph keypad; tap glyphs to fill the 12 slots.
- Galaxy — remembers your last one so you rarely need to touch it.
Tap Log system to save. You land in the Catalogue with the new entry.
Space stations & envoys
Tap the station row on the Log form to open the station editor. Give it a prefix (auto-filled from the system name) and a suffix — the suffix hints at which guild envoy lives there (Merchant, Explorer, or Mercenary), something the game never tells you directly.
Every envoy guess is a prediction you can override per station. The prediction blends the region's guild, the suffix's seeded default, and your override. If a suffix's usual envoy disagrees with what's actually here, you get a ⚠ heads-up.
- Redemptions ⬆ — what the envoy offers for standing.
- Donations ⬇ — what it accepts for standing.
- Prefill … staples — one tap adds that envoy's usual items (never overwrites yours).
- Trade goods ↗ / Sell here ↘ — read-only, derived from the economy: what to buy here and carry onward, and what sells at a premium here.
Outlaw (Pirate Controlled) systems swap the envoy for a ☠ black market contraband list instead.
In the Catalogue, press and hold (or right-click) a station row to view its details read-only.
Catalogue: browse & search
The Catalogue lists every system you've logged. The search box matches across names, regions, economy, resources, tags, notes — anything on the card.
Stack the dropdown filters (economy, strength, conflict, race, envoy, region, resource) to narrow down; they combine with AND. The ⚠ Suffix-seed conflicts only toggle surfaces stations whose real envoy differs from what their suffix usually implies — handy for cleaning up predictions.
Each card has Edit and Delete. Use + New to start a fresh log.
Routes: trade loops & envoy runs
The Routes tab turns your logbook into itineraries:
- Trade loops — your systems auto-slot into the two NMS economy cycles. Buy each node's surplus, sell at the next. Filter by minimum strength (default: strong ★★★).
- By region — set a region's guild, or leave it Auto to infer from confirmed stations. This drives envoy predictions for the whole region.
- Envoy loop — pick Merchant/Explorer/Mercenary and tick off stations as you visit them. Marks persist per type; Reset clears just the shown type.
- Envoy exchange — pick an item to see which stations offer it and which accept it.
Craft: recipes & sourcing
Search any item on the Craft tab to see how it's made and where you can get its parts. Recipes show inputs → outputs; tap any ingredient to drill into it, and Back to return.
- ✓ buildable marks recipes whose ingredients you can fully source from your logged systems — even transitively (parts of parts).
- Source the ingredients expands to show which of your systems gather, refine, or trade each input.
- Where to find lists where an item is gathered ⛏, offered by envoys ⬆, or wanted ⬇.
- ★ Watch an item or pin a recipe to keep it at the top for quick reference.
Goals
A simple to-do list for what you're chasing in-game — resources to farm, systems to find, upgrades to build. Add a goal with optional comma-separated tags, then search, filter by tag, tick them off, or hide the done ones. Open goals sort to the top.
Corvette builds
Create a build, then paste a tutorial's parts list (lines like Hab: 2) to turn it into a gathering checklist. The parser is lenient and asks you to resolve anything ambiguous or unrecognised.
Use + / − to track how many of each part you've gathered; the progress bar fills as you go. Tick a part to mark it fully stocked, hide stocked parts, or add parts by name manually.
Sync & backup
Everything lives on your device. To share a logbook across phone and laptop, use Sync (below): generate a code on one device and enter the same code on the other. The code is both the key and the login, so keep it secret — anyone with it can read and write that logbook. A different code = a separate logbook.
Prefer files? Backup & transfer exports the whole logbook as JSON and imports it back — Merge to combine, or Replace all to overwrite.
App updates
Installed to your home screen, the app updates in the background. When a new version is ready a banner shows at the top — or force a check here.
Sync
Sync this logbook across devices with a single code. The code is the key and the login — enter the same one on your phone and laptop to share data; generate a different one to keep a separate logbook (e.g. for a friend). Keep it secret: anyone with the code can read and write that logbook.
— this must match on your other device, or you're on different codes.Envoy name rules
Station names hint at the envoy inside. Rules match most-specific first; every prediction stays overridable per station.
Station suffix defaults
The canonical game suffixes and their seeded default envoy — the weak fallback used when a region has no confirmed or tagged guild. Reference only for now (region signal and per-station overrides always win).
